Vietnam Airlines is the flag carrier of Vietnam and is a state-owned enterprise. With a huge fleet of 92, the airline covers a wide network of 64 destinations. The airline is has a few subsidiaries, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, Vietnam Air Service Company, Vietnam Airlines Caterers, Vietnam Airlines Cargo and Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company. Vietnam Airlines become a member of the SkyTeam alliance in 2010.

Alliance
SkyTeam founded in June 2000 has 19 members who collectively carry over 630 million passengers each year reaching over 1150 destinations. SkyTeam alliance and its members have 750 lounges worldwide. Passengers can access privileges based on the status of the member airline's frequent flyer program. SkyTeam has two frequent flyer program tiers which are Elite and Elite Plus are linked with the status of the airline membership programs.

Travel Class
Vietnam Airlines provides 3 travel classes.
Business Class - Vietnam Airlines provides on-ground support with priority check-in, baggage and boarding for all business class guests. Guests can relax before boarding the exclusive Lotus lounge and unwind onboard with the fully flat beds which are equipped with TV screens. All guests are given complimentary personal amenities.
Premium Economy Class - Passengers in the premium class enjoy comfortable deluxe seats, priority check-in and handcraft meals onboard.
Economy Class - Guests in economy class can relax in the premier hospitality from Vietnam Airlines. With wider seats, guests also receive hot/cold meals along with beverages.

Baggage Allowance
Passengers are allowed to carry hand baggage which can weigh up to 12 kgs and the check-in bag can weigh up to 20-40 kgs according to the chosen class option. Passengers can read about excess luggage allowance and additional charges here.

Check-in
Domestic Flights - Passengers can check-in 24 hours to 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure time.
International Flights - Passengers can check-in 24 hrs to 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure time.

Frequent Flyer Programme
Lotusmiles is the frequent flyer program which offers members access to Business Lounges and priority service at check-in counters, boarding gates, airport transfer desks and security. Member also receives extra baggage allowance and earn miles during special occasions. The four membership tier can be accessed based on the eligibility criteria of each tier.

Onboard support
Vietnam Airlines provides assistance for guests with special needs, Infants, expectant mothers, unaccompanied minors and any pre-departure arrangements. Passengers in need of mobility support will be provided with wheelchair services during the flight.

Refund and Cancellation
Passengers can cancel their booking either through Vietnam Airlines’s sales’ offices or website. All cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee.
